I guess it’s going to be really, really foggy from here on out. I left this morning and couldn’t see downtown at all, or the rising sun. it was pitch black out until I was nearly all the way across the bridge. as I made it around the last pillar, I saw tino sitting in one of the maintenance trucks with the lights on. no doubt I would see him near the danger zone on the way back. so after a rather frosty ride through the empty city, I rode the lonely path down to corte madera. no commuters, buses, or pedestrians out yet, it was perfect. the weather was also a bit cold, so maybe that’s why people were staying in for longer. either way, I caught the same 3 school buses from yesterday and approached as they had their yellow lights flashing. a bunch of cars waited patiently, and I had no idea why. you have to yield to a school bus if the red lights flash, not the orange. it’s even written on the back of the bus…
so I passed the buses and had the road pretty much to myself for a while. I dropped down, around, and back towards the bike path. I spotted maurice (and friend) heading on the bike path out. I wanted to wave or scream, but my throat was iced and my hands were numbed, so my apologies, maurice. hope you guys had a good ride in the cold! the danger zone was clear on the bridge, so I made it across without any stops. as I dropped down into crissy fields, I saw percy in a freewheel kit and mustered up a shout. yo, percy! I saw him yesterday, too. hope you had a good ride.
props to anyone that made it out this am. the fog/frost is brutal.
