this morning the fog was thick and dry. it felt like I was riding through one big smog cloud, minus the cars. fortunately, it cleared up a bit on the bridge, and I was able to safely ride across into marin. in the back of my mind, I was hoping that the danger zone would be running smoothly on my way back. aside from the weather being a bit cold, the ride went quite well. I rode then entire length of camino alto and was only passed by 1 car in the beginning – definitely thankful I didn’t have to stick one on the descent. after making it around to paradise drive, I caught up to not 2 but 3 packed school buses all with flashing red lights on. not worth passing one of them for an enormous ticket, especially in marin…
luckily, I passed all of them while they were just about to take off. after making it around, I jumped back onto the bike path and headed back home. somewhere along the way, my powertap battery died – I guess I’ll be riding with just heart rate for a while until I get around to dropping off the rear wheel at the shop. oh well. the fog was still thick on the bridge and in the city, but it wasn’t low-laying anymore. visibility was back, and I caught a break in the danger zone (silent shout out to my bridge cop friend, tino), riding through without any hiccups.
so aside from no longer having power or cadence, everything went swimmingly. now I’m off to work, hope everyone has a good monday!
