last piece of the puzzle.

it’s a halo supa drive, 24h.  120 engagement points – it’s quite loud and has faster engagement than your average hub.  I’ll have to take a video once the caad5 is fully built (possibly next tuesday), it’s going to be a wicked rear hub.  I remember how fast the chris king classic hub used to snap forward, it was surreal.  and it had 72 points, in comparison (r45 has 45).  halo specializes in bmx and mountain bike components, so I’d expect the same durability from a road component from them.  and yes, I have a matching white front hub!  I won’t dive into any more component details, since the build is looming.

I’ve been off the bike for a full week at this point, mainly because I’ve been somewhat lazy sleeping in and such.  I ran that 5 miler on monday which really put the hurt on my right knee.  definitely too hard too soon.  I’m hoping to have a bit of motivation to jump on the bike tomorrow, pre-dawn, but we’ll see.  juggling multiple projects at work isn’t really an excuse either, and I’m trying not to pull that card on myself.  there are tons of other people that have more stacked schedules than me that are much farther above my fitness level.  no excuses.

I may tone down the running a bit so I can get back to more riding.  too much running, too early on, for sure.  at least now I know…

I think I may be racing this sunday depending on how my knee is feeling come saturday.
