Ran along the Embarcadero at lunch, and it kicked my ass. Really hard. My stride was all sloppy and weird – I guess I was moderately tired from the ride in the morning. I was zombied for the duration of the day, but it definitely helped clear my head for a short hustle for work that followed after I got back in.
Tomorrow is stairs. Excited for the elevation.
Windy much? The whole ride was practically a battle against the crazy crosswinds coming off the coast. I had a token random drafter guy early on, along the Marina greens up to the bridge, but he (unfortunately) split off shortly thereafter. I was also pleasantly surprised that there was basically no one out because of the weather, minus the Marin commuters. No bridge construction workers, either. And at some points, the wind turned into a cross tailwind of sorts, which made going fast feel easy as cake. 5 seconds later, it’d all be over. More wind slowly sucking the life away from lazy pedaling.
I saw Connor, Travis, and Gabe (BRITEsport) heading out for their ride this morning too. Instantly noticed Gabe in the back because of his fluorescent full finger gloves. I may need to step up my neon game soon.

Monday’s stair session proved to be a worthwhile active recovery from yesterday’s crit. Felt a bit sleepy at the end of the day, and hoping I can get a good night’s rest to keep the rest of the week going well.
