La Pomme Marseille-2013

Look at those Casco Speed helmets.  That plus their CKT framesets, this team is euro to the bones.

I think it’s funny how I preoccupy my mind with what I’m going to write here when I’m out riding, and then by time I get back, I forget everything.  The road along the Marina Greens is still closed off, so it’s street riding until the path is repaved.  It was pretty busy out on the bridge as I headed out, lots of commuters riding and 2 bridge workers with leaf blowers trying to dry the condensation on portions of the bridge.  Other than that, everything seemed pretty normal.  I caught up to a guy at the Bridgeway light and he chit chatted about the cold section right in between Mill Valley and Sausalito, along the waterfront.  And that was pretty much it.

Happy Thursday!

Look at that dreamy frameset.  Those GT’s are the best.

-1 point for being non-drive.  +1 for being a Pinarello.  Cancels out.

Michael Van Staeyen (Topsport Vlaanderen – Baloise) won the opening stage at the Etoile de Bessèges, narrowingly crossing the line ahead of Frédérique Robert (Lotto Belisol) and Justin Jules (La Pomme Marseille).  Pierre Rolland (Team Europcar), Niels Wytinck (An Post-Chainreaction), Koen Barbe (Crelan-Euphony), Arthur Vanoverberghe (Topsport Vlaanderen-Baloise) and Jason Bakke (La Pomme Marseille) formed the day’s break.  They opened up a 2 minute lead but were eventually brought back with 18km left.

Staeyen leads in the GC 4 seconds ahead of Robert and 6 ahead of Jules.

Lotto Belisol team issue.  So much carbon…everywhere.  At least we can tell this isn’t Greipel’s bike because it doesn’t have the 35mm bars.
